“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance.” Ecclesiastes 3:1,4 NLT
A TIME FOR GRIEF
After a loss, the painful process of grieving is thrust upon us. We can find ourselves feeling as if we aren’t equipped to handle a constant pain we can’t escape. I want you to know that there IS HOPE.
Grief Has a Time Frame
Even though it doesn’t feel like it, GRIEF IS A SEASON that has a beginning and an ending.
A terribly frigid winter seems like it will never end, but eventually it makes way for the new life associated with spring.
The same is true with your season of grief. It may seem endlessly dark, cold, and painful, but there is a season that will rise up behind it. The new season will bring hope, joy, and new life to your weary heart.
[on a side note] There are times when a person plants themselves in their grief . They see it as the only way to stay connected to who or what they lost. That is not God’s plan for grief.
Dear God, Thank you for your promise that this dark and painful season of grief has an end. Teach me how to walk the path of grief the way You want me to. Be my compass as I navigate this treacherous season that feels like it will be eternal. Help me recognize when signs of new life begin to break through the harshness of this season and embrace them when they do. Be my help and comforter because I can’t walk this painful path on my own. Its hard and it hurts, but I know you are with me and will not abandon me. In Jesus name I pray–Amen.

Thanks for the reminders that grief is but a season, but the Love and Provision of God is eternal.

What an important reminder that grief has a beginning and an end! It’s easy to forget that when we are in the middle of it!
Reminds me of psalm 30:5
